Networking Sessions—Teaching, Assessing, and Documenting the MAERB Core Curriculum Affective Competencies
Employees of medical assisting professionals state that affective behaviors are as important as clinical skills in their hiring processes, as they need medical assistants who can provide clinical care as well as interpersonal skills. Faculty of CAAHEP-accredited medical assisting programs strive to meet the employees’ demands, and the MAERB Core Curriculum supports that demand, but teaching behaviors is not an easy task, and the further requirements to assess and document those behaviors complicates things further.
The three identical networking sessions are designed to enable Program Directors and instructional staff of CAAHEP-accredited programs to share tips and techniques about teaching, assessing, and documenting the affective competencies.
Each session will begin with a brief presentation, and then participants will have the opportunity to share assignments, tips, and techniques (for teaching and assessing the affective competencies in the MAERB Core Curriculum) with the other participants, in small groups.
Space is limited, so we ask that you sign up for only one of the sessions so that we can serve as many people as possible.
