If you are interested in applying for initial accreditation for your medical assisting program with the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), you are in the right place.
As a Committee on Accreditation (CoA) under CAAHEP, The Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB) provides support and guidance for medical assisting programs who are interested in CAAHEP accreditation, and we conduct all the processes and then work with CAAHEP for the accreditation recommendations
MAERB has designed a short virtual asynchronous course, Initial Accreditation Pathways Project, consisting of eleven interactive modules that provide information about the CAAHEP Standards and Guidelines for the Accreditation of Educational Programs in Medical Assisting. In addition, these modules will introduce you to MAERB’s resources to help you work efficiently toward your goal of initial accreditation.
You can access the first module at the following link: The Virtues of Accreditation
After you view the content in the module, there is a form for you to fill out that will be submitted to the MAERB staff. Once we receive the form, we will contact you with any questions and provide you with access to the complete series of modules. Throughout this interactive series of modules, you will have the ability to ask us questions.
